Lovely and very rare (almost extinct) four pound size marmalade from James Keiller. Produced at the Maline Newcastle pottery house around the turn of the century.
Sold as found by excavators and overall in great condition with some crazing, and rust effects from burial.
Most all buried pieces have these these elements, but have yet somehow survived nearly a century. No chips! Very few hairline cracks.
This is truly a rare piece of history. For the most part these pots were used once and then discarded and buried in the tips of London.
