Now let’s talk decorating. Or maybe let’s pinpoint it to let’s talk decorating for summer! What
changes do you make? What seasonal things do you pull out of the tubs
in your basement? What things do you put away? Do you decorate with
certain things for certain holidays such as the Fourth of July
??Questions, questions?? I know but it’s just fun during these chats to get to know you a little bit better. Believe it or not as I go through my day, and basically I work alone, I think about our customers and you all living out your lives in your own private surroundings.
There is an upward trend right now of clean and edited with a little contemporary mixed in to the farmhouse look that we all know and love!
Try as I might I just can’t seem to be that person who becomes a minimalist, but I do love and very much appreciate the look and the concept!
So I guess I should be putting a few more things away in those tubs in the basement how about you?
Are you a minimalist or do you have what I like to call organized clutter?
Whatever it is it’s home and I believe we are all striving each day to make it a little more cozy and a little more warm and a little more inviting.
If we can help in anyway we are here for you. We have tons of ideas and as many sources for finding that certain piece that you may not be able to find!
So please enjoy this list of some fresh ideas for summer decorating:
1) Freshen up something with paint. Last summer I painted the two garage sale rockers on my front porch. I chose a color called Black Mocha by Behr. You get the most bang for your buck from paint.
2) Buy some live plants or herbs ... scatter them and sprinkle them around your sunny windows.
3) Change out some window treatments to light airy lace or white cotton, for all the obvious reasons.
4) Burn a summery candle such as pear or lemongrass. It does wonders to your senses. click to view
5) Change out any dark rugs to light earthy sisal.
I could go on and on but I think you get the picture, so talk to us we’d love to hear from you and all about your summer design ideas.
Fall in love with your home again!
