call me goof-ey, call me crazy
call me a wack-job
but I don't mind doing dishes.

just don't call me to do your dishes.

I am prr-r-e-t-t-y  f-u-s-s-y tho
about the ambience IN the kitchen whilst I wash
away the dinner grime.

a ways back I spoke of the possibility of
a small kitchen makeover
which would've included an
apron farm sink ...

for now that possibility is over at the stove
on the back burner ... bummer

this farm girl can get high
on soap suds just dreaming
about sinks

truth be told my habit of choice
falls on Pinterest

the soaps, sinks and sundries
there blow me out of the dishwater

so let the daydreaming games begin

yes, I'd carry my dishes to the powder room
or the laundry tub
and wash them there!

don't ask me to chose a favorite
OR wash your dishes!

vintage inspiration friday

I actually like doing dishes...maybe cause there's only just the two of us now so the sink is not quite as full as when all the kids lived at home.
You are the one who influenced me about my dish soap dispenser. Mine sits in a pretty glass bottle with a pouring spout...refilled about every couple of weeks from the big jug from Costco.
As for the sinks...I've had all kinds...but the double washtubs is a favorite!
And I might just steal the idea of the one hanging from the barn or garage. Just a simple rectangular enamel container would be sweet as can be with some fresh herbs growing out of it!

I love every single one! I have the old running board type double sink in my kitchen and love it but I don't do dishes by hand much anymore! I know it is good for the soul...

Thanks for some good ideas, I am going to put one of my old sinks out in the chicken run...the girls will love it. They can roust there or nest if they want.

Hi Joy, anytime I see a big galvanized tub, I think of the upolstered ottoman you made with one and I swoon. Still thinking about that one. The best way to wash dishes is with a friend...or helps! Think Big Chill;-). Have a great weekend. Love, Penny

My Hubby, The Gentle Giant hauled this baby out of a field for FREE! The reclaimed barn-wood table in our gardening shed was here when we moved to the farm. I attached the burlap to the bottom. This is our bathroom sink, I think you will like :)

I'm with you, these are amazing! I had a new stainless steel sink in one place and loathed it. give me an old enameled sink and I'm happy. Love all your inspiration, Joy!!

I've been pining for a farmhouse sink for what seems like forever. Will it ever happen? Who knows?! But we girls can certainly dream, can't we?

I love old sinks too, Joy,
but that newer one with the red checked skirt is just drool-worthy! Loved that image.

It's a cold one here this evening. Might have to put my snow boots on to keep my feet warm here in my drafty old room here this evening!

Hope this finds you warm and safe. xoxox
