Indiana "snow days"
(back in the day when kids didn't have to "makeup" time
at the end of the school season)
1954 family Ford
Juls, Joy and Ruth
yes, I'm the oldest
circa 1999
me thinks it would be fun to make a six figure income and be wrong most of the time ...
uh hum ...a meteorologist
we get our knickers in such knots
over their predictions
scary stories were flying around the midwest most of last fall
as to how brutal the winter would be ...
it is well upon us and I'd say the average temps
since November range in the high 30's to mid 40's ...
notice the vintage Indiana snow drifts from the 1950's ...
that's me and one of my sisters posing as
cute farmer's daughters!
I'm off to the MILD weathered Windy City
for a couple of laughter filled days
with my two sisters.
Everything is on hold for this brief holiday...
the paint brush is laid to rest,
nails are freshly polished ...
hair trimmed
crest white strips have been applied ...
it's rented condo time
for these farmer's daughters
... high time for some fun.
so, unless you live in the Rockies ...
how's the weather in your neck of the woods?

Ohhhh have so much fun!!
Winter has been awesome here in Texas! I love warm winters :)
Funny you said that..I tell my husband all the time I want to be a meterologist..I don't have to be right and I still get paid..What a job that would be..Have a great trip..
Since we're practically neighbors I've got the same mild winter here in Minnesota as you. But I keep telling my kids.... we might not have a brutal sub zero temp type winter, but there is still lots of time left to get dumped on with snow - repeatedly!

(Have fun in Chicago! Your middle sister looks like Jane Fonda)
seems winter has passed us over here in tennessee! temps in the 50's-60's have forced my daffodils to bloom early! have fun in chi-town, i love that city....i grew up in arlington heights.

Winter has certainly been more like early spring and late autumn in temps... though we did get a sprinkling of snow ... but it was very light...and only held on due to the cold temps.
Have a great time with your sisters! xo HHL
It's not like winter here, either! So strange...we have sun and mid 40's instead of snow.
Have fun with your sisters!
Winter skipped Tennessee, also. We are having beautiful spring like days. Buttercups are popping up everywhere. Such a strange winter...
Have a great time with your sisters, Joy.
the same over here...Despite what everyone was saying, ahem weathermen, I did a little checking online for extended forecasts, and what I found was predicting a La Nina pattern which means a milder winter and it turns out they were right. Now why can't the weathermen do the same? I don't know where they get their information, but obviously it's not working lol. I think they just like to play with us:)

I love seeing the old pictures of back in the day
I just think its so much fun seeing others family pictures and they look just like my old family pictures. Only I don't ever remember that much snow in southern Illinois when I was a kid
We have had no winter here in Missouri , a little cold thats all no snow
